Officials rescue man stuck in rising waterbody in northern India

Officials in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand rescued a man who was stranded in the middle of a stream as the water level rose.

A migrant worker, the man had gone to wash before the water level rose due to incessant rains.

The incident took place in Haldwani area of Nainital district on May 5.

Visuals showed officials using ropes to safely rescue the man.

The rescue was done by a joint team of police, fire department and the SDRF.

According to reports, officials reached the spot after receiving information about the stranded man.
