Women activists in India take to the streets in protest against reopening of wine shops.

The crowd of females gathered near the wine shop where the men were queued up in hundreds even before the shops opened to purchase liquor.

The group of women activists felt that the reopening would hamper the COVID-19 cases as the people were seen openly flouting the social distancing norms.

The Women activists came out and gathered in protest against the decision of the government which would pose a threat to the human life. The demanded to close the wine shops without wasting time.

The video initially shows the large number of men queued up in shops when suddenly the women activists appear in protest.

The activists said that it was quite unfair where the relaxation made by the government for wine shops was 7 hours while for necessary items like groceries were only for 3 hours.

The police had to intervene to disperse the crowd after the matter went out of control.

One of the activists also defended their demands citing an incident where wife and daughter of a man committed suicide after he thrashed them in the drunken state in Chittoor district in southern India
