Torrential rainfall and thunderstorm leave trail of destruction in northern India
Torrential rain accompanied by a thunderstorm has lashed the streets of the north Indian state of Uttarakhand.
Visuals shot at Bhowali, near Nainital, on May 5, showed substantial rainfall pounding the streets in the area, flooding the entire stretch with knee-deep water.
The area has also seen a significant drop in temperature due to strong rains and cool winds.
The rain experienced in various parts of the state has exerted a detrimental effect on the standing crops and fruits.
