This is the moment a suspected COVID-19 patient attempted to escape from a Mumbai hospital by jumping from the window.

CCTV footage from Sion hospital shows the unidentified man fleeing the ward and jumping out of a window on the ground floor of the hospital on May 3rd.

Though the hospital staff pursued him, they were unable to stop him.

But security guard Lahuso Chavan gave chase and caught the man within a few minutes.

The runaway patient, who lost his t-shirt in the scuffle, was escorted back to the ward.

But security guard Lahuso Chavan, who was also in a PPE kit, went out and caught the man in just a few minutes. The runaway patient, who lost his t-shirt in the scuffle, was escorted back to the ward.

A whistleblower, who shared the video, said: “The battle against Covid 19 has been traumatic for both hospital staff and patients.”

Mumbai, one of the largest Indian cities, has been hit hard by the Covid 19 epidemic.
