The presence of a 15-foot-long king cobra triggered panic among the residents in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand.

The incident took place in Kunkhet village of Nainital district's Ramnagar town on May 6.

The visual shows the cobra swallowing another eight-foot long snake in the village.

The lethal predator clamped its mouth around the helpless victim's body.

Following this, the cobra proceeds to swallow the other snake.

According to reports, the villagers spotted the cobra and alerted the forest department officials.

The officials rushed to the spot to rescue the reptile.

According to the officials, if a snake is smaller in size than the king cobra, then the latter will always swallow the former.

The cobra was rescued by the official and later released into the nearby forest.
