The second ‘Shramik Special’ train carrying at least 1190 stranded migrant labourers have left the Delhi station in northern India.

The incident took place at New Delhi railway station on May 8.

The train plying between Delhi and Muzaffarpur in Bihar is carrying the migrants- who were left stranded in the national capital even since the lockdown was implemented on March 23- home.

On reaching Muzaffarpur, the migrants will be quarantined and later will be allowed to go to their respective homes.

Visuals showed the train leaving the railway station with the migrant workers inside the coaches.

Claps and cheers filled the railway station as the migrants are seen waving towards the camera.

It is a sigh of relief for some as they are going home after months.

According to reports, several officials from the authorities have distributed food, mask and hand sanitiser to the passengers.
