A sub adult deer on 11th shortly after midnight crashed roof of a shanty in Powai area in was rescued by RAWW ( Resqink association for wildlife) and forest department officials
Residents of the slum in Powai were woken up shortly after midnight when the deer crashed through the roof.
According to Ritu member of raww they recieved a call around 12:30 am from a resident of Mahatma Pule Chawl in powai.
A seven member rescue team including animal welfare groups from Resqink Association for Wildlife Welfare (RAWW), and forest officials rescued the animal in a couple of hours.
Ritu addd they are not sure about the cause of the sudden fall . Deer fell from the height of around 10 fret , The animal was in shock for a while, he was unable to move for some time .After rescue deer was taken to the rescue centre. “The deer only had minor injuries.
