A classic car enthusiast is back on the road in a 1939 French limousine which is believed to have chauffeured the Queen after a tireless 35 YEAR restoration project.

Petrol-head Steve Southgate, 71, rescued the vintage Citroën 1939 Traction Avant, which is the only one of its kind in the UK, after he found it rusting in a barn in 1985.

The used car salesman loaded the corroded remains onto a trailer and drove it from the property in Essex back to his home in Sutton Coldfield, West Mids.

This video was filmed 9th May 2020.
