Restaurant in China suspended and apologises after cook allegedly spits on food
A restaurant in China was temporarily closed and issued apologies after a cook allegedly spat into food in the kitchen.
CCTV video, shot in the city of Xi'an in Shaanxi Province on May 10, shows a cook allegedly spitting onto food in a pan while cooking in the kitchen of the Sufuji restaurant.
A customer reportedly found a cigarette inside a dish and requested to check the surveillance camera. The cook was then caught allegedly spitting int the food during cooking.
The cook explained that he was not feeling well recently and meant to spit on the floor, and not the food during cooking.
The restaurant has been suspended for internal rectification and issued a letter to apologise.
