Protesters display "Hong Kong Independence" flag during protest to "celebrate" birthday of Carrie Lam
A protester with a flag "Hong Kong Independence" can be seen in Shatin's New Town Plaza mall. Protesters met in the mall as in several other malls in Hong Kong to chant slogans in order to "celebrate" Carrie Lam's birthday. Carrie Lam is the chief executive of Hong Kong. Below, a printed text made reference to a famous letter by Mao Tse Tung, " a single spark can start a prairie fire", Interestingly, this is the title of a letter written by Mao at a time where the communist party was in doubt as to the strategy to follow. This can be a reference to the current state of doubt among protesters over how to tackle the increasing encroachment by China over the autonomous city.
