Injured cobra had been operated and it's health is being monitored daily. Appreciation is pouring for the doctor who operated the snake immediately at night.
Covid lock down has brought everything to stand still yet some good Samaritan s continue their helping hands even to safeguard reptiles. Coimbatore district a hilly area that falls under western ghats always witness the elephant s reptiles such as snake king cobra etc. Like that a cobra from the forest entered into the resident area. Dogs of that area bit the cobra and it was bleeding to death. Immediately the residents called surrender an animal activist to rescue the reptile. Surrender immediately rushed to the spot , rescued the cobra and called forest veterinarian Dr.Ashokan for help.
In Spite of covid lock down Dr.Ashokan offered help and asked surrender to come to the nearby town hall vet hospital.
There the cobra was sedated and the operation took place for two hours. The intestines of the snake were operated again into its body. Snake responded well to the treatment and it was kept under monitoring for a couple of days.
Animal activist around Coimbatore are appreciating Dr. Ashokan s timely help as it was late night then.
