Drunken Man had a narrow escape from death after his ribs were pierced by metal grill of the gate amid Covid 19 Lockdown in Southern India.

A man had a narrow escape from death after his ribs were pierced by metal grill of the gate.

Rajesh (34) had seen a policeman come to charge at him after he was out in a drunken state during the lockdown hours, scared he ran and tried jumping the fence of the gate of a nearby house, when his feet slipped and he fell on the pointed metal grill of the gate which pierced through his ribs.

He immediately cried for help amidst the unbearing pain.

The neighbours who saw him in the dangerous condition rushed to help him and also alerted the police, ambulance and fire officials.

The fire personnel arrived immediately with a metal cutter and cut the rod attached with Rajesh's ribs.

The video shows the fire personnel cutting the metal rod which had pierced through his ribs.

Soon after the rod was cut, he was immediately sent to the hospital in the ambulance waiting at the spot. The hospital authorities removed the rod and he is out of danger. He is currently receiving treatment at the hospital for his injuries.

A resident said, "Rajesh was shouting in unbearable pain, we rushed out of our house to see Rajesh in the dangerous condition."

"His condition was quite horrifying, had there been a little delay in help, it could have been fatal."

The incident is of Kottar area in the Nagercoil district of Tamil Nadu in southern India.
