Residents in Madrid applauded a group of protesters defying the city's continued lockdown and prevention of people leaving their homes.

Large groups of protesters marched down the streets banging pots and pans while wrapped in Spain flags.

The Spanish government announced that half of the country would have their lockdown eased while major cities such as Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia have not.

Several dozen people have demonstrated at 9:00 p.m. on Calle Núñez Balboa despite the fact that the free movement of people is still not allowed, with saucepans to protest that they have not gone to phase 1 and that they cannot go outside. Specifically, the congregants shouted "freedom" and "Sanchez, resignation", while pounding on their saucepans, some of them wrapped in Spanish flags.
The Municipal Police have arrived and the intervention of the riot police has not been necessary. This is not the first time that a concentration like this has been recorded in recent days, but this has been more numerous than the previous ones.

This is in addition to the proposal of the leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, who encourages demonstrating by car in the provincial capitals on May 23, Saturday, a day before the current extension of the state of alarm ends.
