This was the shocking moment two elderly women "sabotaged" a rural path popular with cyclists in Leyburn, North Yorkshire.

The women argued that 17-year-old Nathan Cartwright was trespassing and not adhering to the UK's coronavirus lockdown measures.

They also admitted to obstructing the path when arguing with the young man.

Cartwright told Newsflare: "I was going out for my daily ride when I realised the trail - which is now called 'WHERE'S MY SHOVEL' - hadn't been wrecked yet.

"It was getting wrecked every day so when I rode up and realized it hadn't, I knew I was bound to catch the people responsible."

It was reported both women, aged 62, were contacted by North Yorkshire Police and uniformed officers were sent to speak with both women.

The footage was captured on May 9.
