Receiving Cash Assistance in Makassar Without Social Distancing

Hundreds of poor people in Makassar City, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, received cash assistance from the Government of Indonesia which was centered in a school building, Tuesday, May 20, 2020.

Residents crammed into the room to receive assistance in the form of cash 600.00 rupiah, without any social distancing. They are crammed in front of the door of the building room.

This assistance is given to poor people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, as a form of compensation for implementing Large Scale Social Restrictions.

The Head of Rappocini Subdistrict, Andi Asminullah in an interview said, "Today the Rappocini sub-district is helping to distribute cash for social assistance. In fact, the task is to distribute this from the post office and we only assist in distribution. The distribution is done in two places, in the post office and in this building. The overall total is 2700 "
