Production of coffins for Coronavirus victims
Work Training Center (BLK) Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia, is completing 15 coffins for coronavirus victims, Tuesday, May 19, 2020.
The coffin will be handed over to M Djamil Hospital and Andalas University Hospital.
The making of these coffins is a step in anticipation of the surge in patients of Covid19 victims who died, because the Covid19 outbreak still threatens and the number of victims continues to increase at this time.
The coffin for this Covid19 victim had a difference from the usual coffin. Ordinary coffins do not use aluminum foil, whereas coffins for Covid patients19 in the lower layer are aluminum foil, then given foam and white cloth and parachute cloth.
The size of the coffin depth is around 60 centimeters, 2 meters to 2.1 meters long and 80 centimeters wide (head) and 40-50 centimeters (feet).
Wawanara: Rahmad Yulianto (BLK Padang Building Engineering Instructor)
"Covid19's coffin with an ordinary coffin is very different, that is, ordinary coffin does not use a layer of aluminum foil, whereas for Covid19 it uses aluminum foil, white cloth, foam, and a parachute.
This coffin is a request from M Djamil Padang Hospital and Andalas University Hospital to help manufacture the coffin.
At the beginning of this work as many as 15 boxes were made, if later it was lacking, 15 more would be added.
Workers are BLK Padang staff from the 18 technical vocations. The material used is quite simple namely from a multiplex which is about 1.8 centimeters thick.
Ordinary coffin, usually using teak and mahogany. At the moment the instructor uses easier material because the work is quite easy "
Interview: dr. Dovy Djanas, Sp. OG (Director of Education and General HR)
"Padang BLK is currently helping to build coffins for Covid19 patients in West Sumatra. We hope that through the editorial of M Djamil Padang hospital, we thank you for the assistance from BLK Padang in the assistance of the casket, because M Djamil hospital is one of the hospitals referral pain in serving Covid patients19.
Of course with the case of Covid in West Sumatra, especially in Padang, of course we prepare everything, starting from the maintenance as much as possible.
Of course, patients who are not helped, we organize the bodies according to the standards of Covid, one of them by putting the bodies into the coffin, so that means we hope that this assistance will become a religious deed for all of us, especially to BLK Padang, which later will keep us enthusiastic in treating Covid patient.
We hope that patients who come to M Djamil General Hospital can be helped by us as much as possible, and of course we expect the recovery of patients treated at M Djamil General Hospital, "
