A motorist miraculously survived after a transport truck flattened his car in southern China.

The terrifying video, filmed in the county of Xiangtan in Hunan Province on May 16, shows a truck transporting coal suddenly tipping over onto a car waiting for the traffic lights. The coal loaded on the truck then scattered onto the road, burying the car.

In another video, a digger and a crane were seen attempting to clear the site. The trapped car driver was freed by other motorists driving past and was sent to hospital for treatment.

According to reports, the truck driver was rushing to go through the section of the road before the traffic light turned red so he did not slow down until he was only around ten-metres away from the white car.

The truck then lost control and flipped over after the driver had emergency braked and changed the direction to try to avoid the car.

Although the back of the car was completely flattened, the car driver survived.

监控显示，当时一辆白色小车正在路口等红灯，此时，一辆满载原煤的大货车为了抢绿灯，没有提前减速。驾驶员发现前方白色小车后，为避让往左猛打方向，导致货车发生侧翻，货厢中满载的原煤瞬间将旁边的白色小车掩埋，巨大的冲击力将轿车推出去了好几米远。由于驾驶室被煤紧紧压住，小车驾驶员不能脱身，多亏路过此处的其他车辆驾驶员及时伸出援手，并将被困驾驶员救出送医。

湘潭县交警大队四中队中队长 杨友明：肖某驾驶的重型货车行经这个交叉路口的时候，没有提前减速，突然发现谭某驾驶的小车在前面等候。距离十来米左右，他突然发现这个小车在停车等候，他发生了慌乱，猛踩制动并往左侧猛打方向，从而导致货车发生侧翻。

事发后，交警部门调取监控，发现事故原因是大货车驾驶员抢红灯所致。

湘潭县交警大队四中队中队长 杨友明：驾驶员肖某盲目自信，对通过这个红绿灯路口的时候，盲目自信的认为他可以在剩下的几秒钟通过这个路口，处置措施不当，急打方向踩刹，造成货车的侧翻。

交警勘查现场时发现，白色小车后排和尾箱位置已经被严重挤压变形，如果当时轿车离货车更近一些，很可能全部被煤压住，后果不堪设想。

小车驾驶员 谭师傅：他这一拐过去，车厢就压到我后排的尾部。这边一倒过去那车煤就压在我的顶棚上面，那车煤是慢慢的、慢慢的下来， 如果是一车红砖的话，那就完蛋了。
