Up close footage shot from a boat on May 21, shows the huge scale of out-of-work oil drilling rig 'Prospector 1'. The jack-up rig is operated by Borr Drilling and is currently being stored at the Port of Sheerness until a new contract can be found.

The self-elevating exploration platform can be seen jacked up on its own legs, appearing to hover above the water.

The massive machine is worth £123 million and features 3 cranes, 6 engines, a helicopter deck and can accommodate a crew of 140.

It is due to be joined by its sister rig Prospector 5 in August, after the coronavirus pandemic has caused turbulent times for the offshore oil & gas industry.
