A dog was captured cooling off in a fish pond as temperature reached 34C in Thailand.

The dog could not resist the refreshing water inside the ornamental pot at a Buddhist temple so it decided to jump and have a paddle.

Footage from shows the Aspin pooch named Mhom panting in the temple's 3ft tall bowl, which also has goldfish inside.

Local food vendor, Ying Fah, said the pooch would always stay in the water when the sun starts burning and it has become his routine. He lives freely in the grounds of the temple in Ang Thong province.

She said: "Normally, he would stay in a plastic basin that me or the locals would fill with water for him to sit in.

"But not long ago, the basin was lost so he ran into the fish tank instead since sitting in the water has become his daily routine."
