After a two-month-long suspension of aviation services, an Air India flight carrying nine passengers landed in Diu, an island off the coast of western India’s Gujarat.

The 72-seater flight, VTR-72-600, from Mumbai arrived at Diu Airport on May 27.

The Indian Government suspended all flights since a nationwide lockdown was imposed, starting March 25.

The Diu Airport Authority was well equipped to receive the passengers flying in.

The passengers, along with their baggage, were sprayed with disinfectant spray as soon as they deboarded the plane, by a team deployed by Diu Health Department.

Along with that, the travellers' body temperature was noted to eliminate any cause of worry.

According to the regulations laid down by the government, the passengers will have to stay quarantined for at least 14 days in the facility centers.
