The city of Bukittinggi in West Sumatra is preparing to implement the New Normal phase, after choosing not to continue the Large Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB).

Bukittinggi is the only area that will not be PSBB from 19 Regency Cities in the Province of West Sumatra.

New Normal will begin on June 1, 2020. Mayor of Bukittinggi, Ramlan Nurmatias, said that his party will reopen tourism and hospitality in stages.

Ramlan Quote:
("Bukittinggi PSBB does not mean Covid is finished. Covid is not finished. But we have to open tourist attractions for the sake of the economy. Every corner of the city will be raided. Tourists may enter. The key is health certificate. The important thing is we will check ...)

The tourist sites to be opened are the Kinantan Wildlife Park, or Bukittinggi Zoo. So is the case with the Clock Tower which is the landmard of the city.

Since the last two days, the Jam Gadang which is a relic of the Dutch Age began to be cleaned. Officers spray the park and the Jam Gadang pedestrian area.

At the zoo, officers conduct tests on all officers and employees. Rapid tests are mandatory to ensure that no one is infected.
