Plastic guards were installed at Maricaya Traditional Market in Makassar City, Indonesia in a bid to curb the spread of the new coronavirus.

Plastic guards, and the use of face masks and gloves are part of the regulations implemented in Indonesia as the country slowly starts to reopen.

Maricaya Traditional Market in Makassar City, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, applies health protocols to the buying and selling process, Wednesday, June 3, 2020. Buyers are required to wear masks when entering the market.

Meanwhile traders are required to wear gloves and face shields when making transactions with buyers. Especially in the sale of fish and vegetables, a plastic barrier is placed between the seller and the buyer will be maintained social distancing.

This health protocol is implemented to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak. Because, the market is one place that allows transmission of Covid-19 widely. (*)
