Famed 'Sycamore Gap' tree, featured in major films, found cut down

A famed tree which stood at the Sycamore Gap near Hadrian's Wall in northern England was found on September 28th having been felled overnight.

The tree, which appeared in the film 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves', was several centuries old and was a popular tourist spot in the area.

A timelapse of the tree recorded on July 24th, 2019 shows it intact.
