A giant halo was spotted surrounding the sun above the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu on June 4.

The phenomenon panicked the residents of Chengam as they thought it may be a sign of another global disaster much like the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sun halos are formed by light interacting with ice crystals scattered in the atmosphere.

A giant halo or the ring around the sun with rainbow colours are seen for the past couple of hours.
Also the elderly said "if these halo ring were seen then a good amount of rainfall will be received".
And people got panicked when they see these halos around the sun.
Because some think may be a sign for a another disaster as already we are facing Corona pandemic around the country.
