A sunbeam snake was spotted by a tourist slithering through a brick wall in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Christopher Oldnall was on a morning jog on May 19 when he noticed a busy snake that appeared to be looking for something.

He said: "I believe he is trying to catch a gecko. I was also a bit dumbstruck by how not worried it was with me being so close to it.''

Christopher added that when the snake finished patrolling the fenceline, it disappeared down a hole that goes under the wall. He noticed that the snake was being extremely systematic in its movements, with its tongue going crazy but body relaxed.

Sunbeam snakes usually live in loose soil and under leaf litter. They are most commonly seen moving around on the surface on rainy nights.
