Five tanks belonging to the American army are still in the forest of Kampung Werur, Bikar District, Tambrauw Regency, West Papua. During World War-II, the Allied forces led by the Americans invaded Japan, which at that time made Tambrauw one of the nodes for logistics distribution to troops bases in the Sorong, Raja Ampat and surrounding areas.

The Tambrauw region is a logistical distribution node because it directly faces the Pacific Ocean and is easily accessible from Japan. Therefore, the Allied Forces attacked the Japanese defense in this area.

After defeating Japan, the Allied Forces left these tanks and other combat equipment. Due to age, these tanks have been overgrown with Lumut, and deliberately left just like that, because the Tambrauw regional government will make it a natural museum as a historical tour.
