A family in south-east India was visited by an unexpected morning guest when an owl flew into their kitchen.

The incident took place at a home in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh on June 8 at around 7:00am, when the barn owl swooped in and perched on a cabinet to .

Homeowner RS Pathania explained: “A barn owl being chased by crows flew into our kitchen over my wife’s head as she stood at the door, my wife quickly shut the door to protect that scared bird.

"We asked our few bird lover friends what to do, and they suggested to let the owl be in their home until it's ready to leave by itself.

"The whole day the owl was there in the kitchen and by evening it flew away into the skies from a window."
