A farmer in central India's Madhya Pradesh assembled a motorised plough from scratch to till his land.

Ashish Awasthi, the farmer, designed the machine to better cultivate farmland in Rajnagar, Chhatarpur district of the state.

Footage shot on June 10 showed Awasthi demonstrating the machine on a nearby field.

The machine was made amid the coronavirus crisis, using familiar machine parts from everyday commodities.

A similar product up for sale reportedly would cost between USD $550 to $600 in the market.

Awasthi managed to forge this appliance within USD $80, which runs for about an hour on 0.8 liters (27 oz) of petrol.
