A symbolic blood drive was held in Athens on June 11 on the eve of World Blood Donor Day, as coronavirus lockdown restrictions are preventing other major events from being organised in the city.

The event was organised by the Hellenic National Blood Transfusion Center, and volunteers gathered at the Athens Music Hall to give blood.

World Blood Donor Day will be held on June 14, and is celebrated every year around the world, being dedicated to thanking blood donors and raising awareness of the critical health resource.

Due to the World Blood Donor Day, on June 14, a voluntary blood donation took place in Athens as part of the celebration. June 14 is the World Blood Donor Day and is celebrated every year around the world, the day is dedicated to the anonymous volunteer blood donor.

Unfortunately due to covid 19 restrictions there will be no events for the WBDD2020 here in Athens, this was the only one.
