Two parents sparked outrage after riding home on a motorcycle with their two-year-old son in the basket.

The couple closed their shop and plonked the toddler in the grocery holder on their bike before whizzing home in Rayong, eastern Thailand on May 25.

The mother of the child who recorded the video was heard in the video trying to tell her husband to stop and bring the child to the seat but he did not listen.

Footage of the stunt was posted online sparking a backlash from concerned locals who accused the parents of recklessness.

After the incident, the parents were criticised hard that they later had to apologised.

The child's mother said: "We were sorry for what we have done to our child.

"The video was recorded on the route we take from our shop to our home, the child was first playing on the basket and refused to come down when we were about to go home.

"My husband thought that it would be okay because the route was short and I was aware that this could cause worries to other road users."
