The hungry snake was seen eating a live frog it caught in a pond.

Fisherman Pued Sakchai noticed the two creatures in Sisaket, north eastern Thailand. He said the snake leapt out of the water and grabbed the amphibian in its jaws.

In the video, the painted keelbacks snake is holding the dead frog in its mouth before slowly swallowing it near the shore.

Pued said after the snake had finished its meal, it just slithered away below the surface.

He said: "The snake is the boss of the pond. I feel lucky to have seen nature happen in front of my eyes.''

The painted keelback is harmless to humans and is found in parts of Asia. It is also known as a dark-bellied marsh snake.
