Indonesian tourism bus driver convoy to promote COVID-19 safe tourism amid new normal rules
The tourism bus driver community in Indonesia holds a roadshow around the city. Across the leading tourist attraction in Bukittinggi city, West Sumatra province to promote its safe covid-19 as application of new normal pandemic covid-19 rules.
In footage filmed on Thursday (June 11, 2020) drivers from the Tourism Driver Community (TDC) Minangkabau brought 41 tourism bus gathered the street in front of mayor's house.
Saiful, a member of the Minangkabau TDC community, said that during the three-month vacuum there was no tour because the impact of the corona virus caused their income to decline. Roadshow to promote to the world, the cool air city nicknamed 'tourist city' can now be re-visited by tourists.
Bus drivers and tourism operators must have a covid-19 free certificate and comply with a covid-19 preventive health protocol.
"Each bus now equipped with a hand sanitizer, enforcing social distance and bus passengers are not full. Early June there were guests who booked us, they asked for an official certificate of a negative covid-19 swab. The Mayor promised to conduct a free swab test on all tourism bus drivers," Saiful added.
After released by the mayor, roadshow crosses several mainstay attractions. Such as the pedestrian in Jam Gadang tower park area in the city center, the panoramic park in the Japanese tunnel, to cross the Chinese village under the Limpapeh Bridge, a place for cafes and restaurants to serve foreign tourists.
The Mayor of Bukittinggi, Ramlan Nurmatias, told the media that since the second phase of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) rule ended on May 29, Bukittinggi has implemented a new normal. Characterized by a sloping curve and no addition of positive patients, some positive patients have been declared cured.
