A 11-year-old and 13-year-old were said to be injured during a drive-by shooting on Saturday (June 13) in Hemet, California.

The shooting was reported in the 1200 block of W Valencia Ave.

According to a 911 call, the mother of one of the victims stated her son was shot in the thigh. The second victim was said to be shot in the chest and airlifted by Mercy Air medical helicopter in critical condition.

Officers have established a crime scene.

Hemet fire responded to reports of a gunshot wound victim where two children were struck by gunfire in an apparent drive by shooting. According to calls to 911, the mother of one of the victims stated her son was shot in the thigh. The shooting occurred moments after fireworks exploded from the alleyway between the apartment complex where a group of adults and the two children were gathered. Witnesses describe the vehicle as a black dodge charger that fled the scene in an unknown direction of travel. Officers have established a crime scene and are actively looking for the suspect. No information is available about possible suspects or the conditon of the critical victim. According to family memebers the children shot were of ages 11 and 13. The incident occurred in the 1200 block of W Valencia Ave - Apartment complexes at the intersection of Elk St and Valencia Ave just south Oakland Ave.
