This is the heart-stopping moment a toddler ran into the street - narrowly avoiding being knocked over by an oncoming car.

The two-year-old wriggled away from his grandparents and darted out into the busy traffic while not wearing any clothes in Bangkok, central Thailand, on June 15.

Luckily the oncoming driver noticed the little boy, named Nong Music, and slammed on the brakes, coming within a hair's breadth of running him over.

The near miss was recorded on dash cam by motorist Golf Punchawat while he was travelling home from work.

He said: "I was shocked seeing the boy running into the lane. Luckily I could stop my car in time."

Golf said that if he had been distracted he may not have noticed the youngster.

He said: ''I always watch the road very closely while I'm driving. This shows why it's important to pay attention and have quick reactions.''

The grandmother of the youngster said she had been looking after the boy but she fell asleep on the sofa because she was feeling unwell.

She said: ''He broke out of the gate and ran to the end of the road. We normally walk this way when we take him to the market, so he was following the same path.''
