Firefighters rescue snake from a 4.5-metre-deep water tank in southern India

A snake stranded in a 15-foot-deep (4.57 metres) water tank was rescued by firefighters in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

The incident took place in Thottappanayakanur of Madurai District on June 17.

The video shows, the firefighters using a snake catcher stick and rescuing the snake from the water tank. Later, it was put inside a bag.

According to the reports, the locals, on noticing the snake stranded in the water tank, called the firefighters who immediately came and rescued the reptile.

The snake was later handed over to the forest department.
