The Asia Golden Cat Dead After Being Trapped Pigs Trap in Indonesia

A golden cat was found trapped in a pig trap in Agam Regency, West Sumatra, Indonesia. After being evacuated and treated for two days at the Kinantan Zoo in Bukittinggi City, the animal with the Latin name catopuma temminckii finally died.

Head of the Bukittinggi Conservation and Natural Resources Agency (BKSDA), Vera Chiko, said the ema cat was found trapped on Tuesday, June 16 afternoon. His condition suffered severe injuries on the left hand.

The officers then evacuated and took him to the Kinantan Bukittinggi Zoo for healing. But his age did not last long. Two days after treatment, the golden male cat and estimated to be around 4 years old was found dead.

"The golden cat that we found is dead. The death of the animal was estimated by several factors. First, due to serious injuries.
Second, the number of tick ectoparasites was found. Third, he has severe anemia. "

Golden cat is one of 9 types of forest cats. In terms of size, the golden cat is slightly smaller than a clouded leopard and larger than a native cat.

Golden cats are wild animals that can hunt. If their presence is disturbed or disturbed, it is very possible the cat can attack.

The international institute for nature conservation (IUCN) which focuses on handling endangered animals states that the golden cat's status is Near Threatened or vulnerable to extinction.
