Park rangers sent running for cover when wild elephant marches through checkpoint
This is the terrifying moment a wild elephant startled park rangers when it walked through a road checkpoint in northeast Thailand.
The wandering elephant, named Douen, sent the officers running when he emerged from the Khao Yai National Park in Nakhon Ratchasima on May 17.
One of the workers said: "Douen the elephant did not harm anyone, he just wanted to greet us and have a temperature check. He is also friendly with the dog."
Khao Yai National Park was the first national park and the second largest in the country. The park has become well-known for its Asian elephants freely roaming through the forests.
