A loving husband surprises his wife on her birthday by opening his hidden savings inside an iron pipe.

Footage shows Nguyen Cuong Quyet, 31, opening the pipe with a metal grinder to extract the money he had hidden from his wife Trieu Thi Viet, 31.

During the birthday celebration on May 25, husband Quyet asked her to wait outside their house in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The wife was surprised when her husband came back with a cutting tool and started opening the pipe.

Family members and neihgbours started shouting and cheering when the bills peeked out of the metal. The cash gift amounted to VND 29,500,000 (1,000 GBP).

Their relative, Quyet Thang captured the sweet moment. He said: "It is amazing to see something like this. The husband is wonderful. Their life is not well-off but their relationship is built with affection and love."

The couple of eight years have two children together, a boy and a girl.
