Activist protest and hand demands to police for better handling of gender based violence crimes
a group of activist held a protest before handing over alist of demands to the south african police service.
Their demands include a special unit to deal with crimes committed against women, training for police and speddy handling of crimes currently under investigation.
Last week the president of south africa called the spate of attacks against women and children a pandemic and promised more action from the state.
In recent weeks more than 5 women were killed and in one incident a 8 month pregnant lady was murdered and hung from a tree.
