Vietnam's City Of Ghosts is home to thousands of huge, coloured tombs.

Also commonly known as An Bang Cemetery, the historic site covers around 250 hectares and sits next to a deserted sandy beach, is located in Phu Vang district of Thua Thien Hue province, central Vietnam.

Footage from June 2 shows mausoleums that could be mistaken for mansions, regal stone lions, and glittering mosaic dragons.

According to local media, around 90 percent of the local villagers have overseas relatives that send money home only to build tombs.

Construction began in earnest in 1995, and there are now more than 3000 tombs, averaging at 30,000 USD to 200,000 USD, and range from Buddhist, Christian, Tao, and Muslim.
