A man wearing a ski mask reportedly attempted to burn down the Louis Vuitton store at the South Coast Plaza mall in Costa Mesa, California on Monday. (June 22)

According to the filmer, the man held two bottles of motor oil and poured it in the store’s vicinity as he was attempting to set the luxury store ablaze. Security, however, quickly apprehended the suspect in front of the store before the situation escalated.

Footage captured by other shoppers in the luxury retail store showed a pack of consumers scrambling around in the luxury fashion retailer looking for safety and refuge. Shoppers were immediately chaperoned by staff to the back of the store and up a staircase well that leads them to the parking lot.
