Following several months of inactivity due to coronavirus restrictions, Sri Lanka's Kaudulla National Park opened for visitors again on June 22.

Footage shows several herds of wild elephants, including baby elephants, grazing on the grass unperturbed by the return of human company.

Kaudulla National Park is renowned for its dense population of Asian elephants amidst this park's lush green forest and wetland landscape.

Following several months of complete inactivity due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, a National Park famous for animal sightings opened for visitors in Sri Lanka.

The incident took place in Kaudulla National Park on June 22.

With the ongoing pandemic, there are fewer visits by the travellers and wildlife enthusiasts giving the wild animals their own free space inside the park.

The video shows several herds of wild elephants grazing on the grass unperturbed by human disturbances.

A herd of elephants, including baby elephants, can be seen gleefully strolling on a field next to the lake.

A siege of cranes was also spotted wading through the water in the lake.

The National Park is renowned for its dense population of Asian elephants and there are plenty of chances to spot the wild creatures amidst this park's lush green forest and wetland landscape.
