Rescue operation sees man reeled in from 50 foot deep well in southern India

A man lived to tell his tale after a daring rescue by firefighters saw him being fished out of a 50-foot-deep (15.24 metres) dry agricultural well in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

The incident took place in Manapparai of Tiruchirapalli district on June 24.

The video shows, the firefighter getting into the well to rescue the man.

A few seconds later and the man is seen being pulled up by other firefighter using a system of ropes.

According to the reports, on noticing the man fall into the well by mistake, the villagers informed the Manapparai fire department, who immediately arrived and carried out the rescue operation.

The man was then taken to Manapparai government hospital in an ambulance that was deployed.
