Monitor lizard eats python after tussle on river bank in Singapore
A hungry monitor lizard was seen eating a wild python it caught in a river in Singapore.
The reptile pounced on the snake while it floated through the Kallang River in Potong Pasir on June 21.
Shocked locals watched the two reptiles fighting before the lizard emerged victorious.
Gruesome footage shows the dragon-like reptile tearing lumps of flesh from the snake before gulping them down.
Resident Swen Einhaus said he noticed the wild scene as he cycling along the river bank.
He said: "It looked like the snake was eating the lizard from afar but was a different story when I had a closer look."
