Dramatic moment captures controlled demolition of 40-year-old dilapidated overhead water tank in western India's Gujarat
Following complaints from residents of a neighbourhood in western India's Gujarat, civic body staff demolished a dilapidated overhead water tank.
The incident took place in Vavdi area of Rajkot district on June 25.
Visuals showed a demolishing machine prodding at the stricture seconds before it comes crashing down.
No untoward incident was reported as the staff ensured safety before carrying out the operation.
The water tank was around 40 years old, according to reports.
Residents had complained to the municipal corporation, the local civic body, fearing an accident, as the structuring was weakening with each passing day.
