Officials fish out bovine from 70-foot-deep well, use torch lights during night-time operation in southern India

A cow that accidentally fell into a 70-foot-deep (21.33 metres) well while grazing in the fields was rescued by firefighters in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

The incident took place in Eduthanur village of Villupuram district on June 24.

Visual shows, the firefighters pulling out the bovine from the well.

Two officials were also seen standing in the well, believed to have tied the ropes around the distressed animal's body.

Officials used torch lights as the operation was carried out after sundown.

According to the reports, on noticing the cow that was fallen into the well, the owner of the cow immediately informed the Villupuram fire department, who rushed to the spot and rescued the animal.

The fire officials used torch lights in the rescue operation as there was no street light or electricity at the spot.
