Wild monitor lizard gets stitches after getting into accident in southeast India
An injured monitor lizard was treated by doctors after suffering an accident in southeast India.
The incident took place Teranti village near the Raruan forest division of Odisha's Mayurbhanj district on June 26.
According to the local department the lizard was crossing the road when it got injured in an accident, leaving open wounds on its back and side.
Video of the rescue shows the animal being treated with stitches by the forest workers. It is currently being cared for and will be released into natural habitat once it has fully recovered.
