A resident was surprised by a colourful caterpillar crawling on a pile of cut firewood sticks.

Umaporn Wonganu recorded a strangely beautiful insect at her front yard in Chonburi, eastern Thailand on June 1.

She said: "I saw this colourful worm in my garden, it amazed me a lot."

The caterpillar was later assumed to be a Forester Moth, closely related to burnt moths. They are well distributed in England, Wales, western Scotland and parts of Northern Ireland.
