Thunderstorm With Wall Cloud
Big thunderstorm over the Sperrins of N. Ireland yesterday near Plumbridge, this storm developed a wall cloud below the base. Wall clouds are abrupt lowering under the updraught base of a storm, they mark an area of concentrated inflow into the storm and become visible when rain cooled air near the precip core condenses forming cloud, rotating wall clouds can be a precursor to funnel cloud or tornado formation.
