Swarms of desert locusts invaded a suburb of New Delhi, India on Saturday (June 27).

Footage filmed in the Cyberhub area of Gurugram in Haryana shows the sky filled with locusts.

Gurugram residents were asked to keep their windows shut as a precaution against a locust attack by the city administration.

Swarms of desert locusts invaded the Cyberhub area of Gurugram in Haryana and National Capital region and created chaos among the residents and office goers.

The locusts are seen flying over in the sky and hundreds spotted at the balcony of the buildings on June 27th.

Although the locusts invaded certain areas of South Delhi, it did not enter into the interiors of the national capital.

People shut their windows and the airports were kept on high alert following the invasion as it could hamper the visibility and put flights at risk as IGI airport terminal in Dwarka is just adjacent to Gurugram.
